Project and Cost Managment

  • A long history of fire training left a legacy of hydrocarbon and foam contamination in the near surface soils. An Environmental Impact Assessment was necessary to support the planning application and a Fate and Behaviour study for the Consent to Discharge.

  • Nine options were considered for the remediation design with the favoured option being encapsulation, capping and isolation.

  • Following preparation of the site Remediation Contract Documents, IPM procured the contract on behalf of the client and provided Resident Engineer and Clerk of Works supervision services.

  • IPM were appointed to project manage and administer the contract and provide supervision for the Reinstatement Contract phase.

  • The Reinstatement Contract comprised the construction of an evaporation cell to retain and reuse precipitation falling on the site, as well as the construction and commissioning of a new dual fuelled training rig and ancillary structures.

  • Both projects were completed on time and within budget.

  • The entire project was shortlisted under the JeCC environmental awards.
